Collaborative Working

Many young individuals have admitted they feel anxious and worried about emplyoyment and all that goes with it. Interviews, limited oppertunities, unemployment, and no support are common issues that worry students and graduates. They often feel that after univeristy they are on their own and dont get the support they need. There has been a rise in small businesses ran online through programs such as instagram. Low budgets, no contacts, limited exposure are amongst some of the issues found when setting a business up in this way.

It was important to get first hand information from students, graduates and small business owners as a starting point. Using this to create a scheme that would try to resolve as many of the issues addressed was the aim. Working out how multiple issues could be takled in one space and concept was resolved through extensive planning and elimiation.

The Synergy collaborates the creative talents of students/ graduates and new businesses. It provides a space to share ideas, skills and contacts and exhibit and showcase designs. The definition of ‘Synergy’ - The combined power of a group of things, which when working together, is greater than the total power achieved by each working separatly. By combining the design talents of different individuals into one space, a powerful environment is created where progression and creativity can take place.
