SHELTER CHARITY STORE

Charity Retail Design

The Shelter store needed an innovative design to set it apart from the typical Charity shop which comes with its assumptions. Many link Charity shops to an unoragnised  shopping experience.

Also, it was noticable that no support areas were in place for those individuals that Shleter aims to help. These two areas were the problems observed and the focus of the project.

The process involved studying peoples views and assumptions on charity shops and looking at how the problems raised could be resolved. Looking into creating an exciting and organised shopping experience was key, whilst also keeping to the clients needs and budget. Introducing an informal support area in the style of a cafe/book shop was the main addition to the store.

The proposal was a charity retail shop with industrial and sustainable features that focuses on the community of Shelter by creating a calming and supportive environment. The store would focus on a positive customer shopping experience as well as offering a base to support individuals that may need help from the charity.
